HHS Clubs Collects 200+ Toys for Local Children

Al’Layjah Jordan

The annual HHS toy drive is hosted by Solutions Club, and assisted by Hero Club and AFROTC this year, and at the time of this article, the clubs’ drive had collected five bikes for the kids and around 200 to 300 toys.

They would like to gather even more toys, so they’ve kept the drive going until Friday after school. If one charity gets more toys than they need, the remainder toys are passed along to other charities that don’t have enough.

These toys are going to the homeless shelter and the food kitchen in Little Rock. Highland’s annual toy drive makes up the demand for toys that Toys for Tots doesn’t cover. Toys for Tots focuses on the big cities, so Highland’s drive focuses on helping the smaller shelters.
