Brooke’s Wake-Up Playlist

By Brooke Hernandez

Wake up! The days are getting shorter and the nights longer. Students are now getting up in the dark for school, and it’s not easy. The solution to the problem is music.

Need something to get you through this week of school? Well, luckily I have 5 songs that may just save you from a having a miserable week. First on the list is a very cheerful, upbeat song called “Malibu” by Miley Cyrus. “Malibu” is a fun pop song that gives off those summer vibes we all miss. This song is a necessity to keep your spirit high whether your trying to do homework or simply just trying to get out of bed.

Next song is “Scars To Your Beautiful” by Alessia Cara. School is tough when you have the pressures of society weighing you down and killing your vibe. But this song reminds us that each one of us is beautiful inside and out, no matter what others may say.

If you are into older music like I am, then you probably know about “Let It Be” by The Beatles. If you didn’t know about this song, now you do, you’re welcome.

Unfortunately, school usually comes with drama. This song reminds us to not stress, not to get involved, and just try our hardest to let it be. Fourth on the list is great for when you’re drowning in work and stress. “20 Something” by SZA will keep you calm and relaxed. Although the words don’t exactly say something calming, her angelic voice and tone of the song will relax you when all the stress gets to you.

If you like more upbeat tunes then you will like the next song. “Know No Better” by Major Lazer is an Electronic genre with a pop twist. This song will keep your energy high throughout the day and is great to listen to on a Friday morning to get you hyped for the weekend.

Hopefully, these songs can help you to get through this week with a little more positivism, less drama and stress, and more energy.
